Having a problem with Drive? We might have already solved it. If you don’t see your problem here, get in touch.
We are aware of an issue with some users unable to sign up when they enter their licence details. If you get a message saying ‘Oops something went wrong’ after you entered your learner licence details, try signing up through the web browser (Chrome, Safari or Microsoft Edge). We apologise for any inconvenience while we get this bug fixed.
Signing up for Drive is easy. Just click on the ‘Sign up’ button at the top right of your screen. All you’ll need to provide is your name, email, date of birth and password.
If you see this message, one of three things has happened:
In rare cases, it might be a bug. You can get in touch using our contact form and our technical team will help you out.
Due to emails being the unique identifier for accounts, changing the email address effectively means we need to create a new account and migrate all existing progress from the old account to the new one. We can certainly do this. However, if you haven’t made much progress, it would be simpler for you to create a new account with the new email address and delete the old account.
If you want to change or update the email address associated with your account please get in touch using our contact form and we’ll sort it out for you.
If you get an error that says “Facebook sign up failed”, it probably means you’ve tried to sign up with Facebook but don’t want to share your email address or date of birth.
You can’t sign up to Drive unless you tell us your email address and date of birth. We need this information to give you the best possible experience, and to make Drive a better resource for other young drivers.
If you decide you’re happy to tell us your email address and date of birth, and want to sign up through Facebook again, follow these steps:

Drive Go has been designed to help young people learn to drive once they have their learner licence. The app teaches you the practical skills you need to be a safe and confident driver. It allows you to track your drive, monitor progress, and prepare you for the restricted and full driver tests.
The best way to prepare for the learner licence test is by working your way through the Drive Road Code on the Drive website. Our road code contains chapter tests at the end of each section. These are like mini practice tests and a great way to check you’re on the right track.
Drive Go is only available in New Zealand as it tracks your in-car location, speed and distance travelled using GPS sensors in your mobile device.
The following links have information on how to change your country.

The functionality isn’t currently available, but we’re considering adding it in future.
Do you have animations disabled at your device’s system level?
If that’s the case, then the final animation loop end will never happen, and the screen won’t advance.

The easiest way to book or change most practical test bookings is online. You’ll need your driver licence number. If there is less than two full working days until your test, you will also need a Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card to pay the reschedule fee.
If you can’t change the booking online, you will need to call 0800 822 422 or go into a driver licensing agent.
