How we store your information
We take your privacy seriously and will store the information we collect about you securely. We use Okta, a cloud-based identity management service based in San Francisco to manage access to some New Zealand Transport Agency services, including Drive.
If you use counter, prescription or traditional healing medication, it is important to discuss with a health care professional how it may affect your ability to drive safely. Alcohol and drugs, including some medicines from your doctor, can seriously affect your driving.
The third and final step to becoming a fully licenced car driver is to get your full New Zealand driver licence. This involves a practical driving test to assess your driving skills and ability to maintain safe driving behaviours.
In the weeks before your test, practise talking about hazards while driving. Start as a passenger with a more experienced driver. Sit in the passenger seat and describe hazards you see and what you’d do about them. When you’re more confident, try it as you’re driving.
