How Drive Go works
Download the Drive Go app and sign up or log in. If you already have a Drive account that you used for Drive Road Code, you can use the same login details.
- Drive Go is set out in ranks: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Champion. Learners must complete each rank to move on to the next.
- Each rank is achieved by completing the required skills and a number of drives. To find out what needs to be completed for each rank, tap on the steering wheel icons on the road map.
- Tap ‘Skills’ at the bottom of the screen to see all the skills you can practise. There are 44 skills organised into 8 chapters. The chapters are at the top of the screen, just swipe right or left to move through them. Tap any skill to view the key learning points, diagrams and videos. If you’ve already practised the skill, click on the 3 dots and mark as ‘learned before’.
- To create a drive plan, tap on the yellow ‘GO!’ button at the bottom of the screen. Tap the skills you want to practise, and they’ll be added to your plan.
- Read the information and watch the videos for the skills in your plan. You can do this at home, or in your car when parked safely.
- When you’re ready to start driving, tap ‘Begin drive’. You won’t be able to use your phone while driving. Your drive will be tracked using GPS to give you feedback on your time, distance and speed. Your drive and the skills you practised will be added to your stats so you can progress through the ranks.
Note: You don’t have to track drives to use Drive Go. You can still build a drive plan and view the skill information without using the tracking feature. You just won’t be able to progress through the ranks or review your drives in the app.
