How long does the restricted test last?

The Testing Officer will take you through a set route that will take up to 45 minutes.

The restricted test has two stages:

• Stage 1: about 10 minutes long. This is for the testing officer to check you know the basics well enough to progress to the more challenging driving tasks in the next stage.
• Stage 2: about 35 minutes long. To check you display safe driving skills and good judgement across a range of driving tasks, roads and traffic.
